Please join our Chavurah Beth Shalom as we honor Elaine and Mike Adler and the Adler Aphasia Center as June was Aphasia Awareness Month. The chairperson for our special event is Susan Penn, board member of the Adler Aphasia Center founding member of our Chavurah.
Among our invited guests are:
- Senator Loretta Weinberg
- Senator Bob Gordon
- Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle
- Assemblyman Gordon Johnson
- and Assemblyman Tim Eustace
Immediately following Shabbat Services at 10:30am, we will acknowledge Mike and Elaine for their work in raising awareness of Aphasia and there will be in attendance many people from our community who helped to establish the Mike Adler Aphasia Awareness Task Force Law which is now officially recognized by the State Of New Jersey Legislature and now a permanent part of the NJ Department of Health.
Susan Penn will introduce Elaine who will speak to us about Aphasia, what it is, the work being done to raise awareness and the resources offered by the Center to those afflicted.
Our Chavurah Beth Shalom Senior Rabbi Scholar, Jack Bemporad will add his congratulations and appreciation to the Adler family for their good works in our community and beyond.
The Adler family as well as the Penn family are founding members of our Chavurah and we hope to see everyone on this special day at the Alpine Community House ( 5 Old Dock Road, Alpine, NJ, 07620).
Light refreshments will be served to those attending and all are welcome from our community.
